About packet.ai
packet.ai is the developer cloud from hosted.ai. Developers rent GPUs by the hour or call open models through Token Factory, our OpenAI-compatible inference API, and pay a fraction of what they would elsewhere. Our tagline is “Waste less compute,” and we mean it literally: packet.ai runs on hosted.ai’s GPU pooling technology, which gets far more work out of every GPU than static allocation does. Same silicon, smarter economics.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a Digital Marketing Manager who owns how developers find packet.ai, across every channel we can measure: content, search, social, and paid.
This isn’t a social media scheduler role, and it isn’t a paid media buyer role. You’ll run the whole top of the funnel yourself. One week that means a launch thread for a new model, the next it means rebuilding a Google Ads account that’s buying the wrong clicks, and most weeks it means a tutorial a developer can copy, paste, and run.
The channels are the means, not the end. What you’re building is a steady, growing flow of developers who sign up and actually use the product, and a clear answer to which channel brought them.
If you get a kick out of seeing a Hacker News comment turn into a spike in sign-ups, this role was written for you.
What You'll Own
Content & Organic Growth
- Own the packet.ai blog and content calendar: technical tutorials, model launch posts, pricing comparisons, benchmarks, and use-case guides. Work with engineers so every code sample runs and every number holds up.
- Run SEO and GEO: keyword strategy, on-page and technical fixes, internal linking, structured data, and visibility in AI answers from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Google AI Overviews.
- Turn every model launch, price change, and product release into content within days, not weeks.
- Keep claims and prices accurate across the site. Developers check, and one wrong number in a comparison table costs more trust than ten good posts earn.
Social & Community
- Run packet.ai on X, LinkedIn, Reddit, YouTube, and Discord in a voice developers respect: direct, numbers-first, with a little dry wit.
- Show up where developers already talk about inference and GPUs, such as Hacker News, Reddit, and Discord communities, and add something useful instead of dropping links.
- Produce short demos, launch threads, and clips that show the product working rather than describe it.
Paid Acquisition
- Plan, launch, and optimize campaigns across Google Search, X, LinkedIn, and Reddit, and test newer channels such as developer newsletters, podcasts, and YouTube sponsorships.
- Judge every channel on activated developers and cost per activated developer, not clicks or impressions. Move budget toward what works and kill what doesn’t.
- Run creative and landing page tests with the web team, and keep tracking clean: UTMs, GA4 conversion events, and attribution you trust.
Measurement & Reporting
- Publish a weekly view of traffic, sign-ups, activation by source, cost per activated developer, and organic share.
- Work hand in hand with whoever owns PLG: you bring developers in, they turn them into active, paying users, and you share the data both ways.
Requirements
- 3+ years of digital marketing experience, ideally at a B2B SaaS, developer tools, or technology company. You’ve owned at least two of content and SEO, social, and paid, and you’re comfortable picking up the rest.
- A track record of growing traffic and sign-ups, with numbers you can walk us through.
- Hands-on paid experience in Google Ads plus at least one of LinkedIn, X, or Reddit. You’ve managed a real budget and you read CAC and conversion data without help.
- SEO depth beyond the basics: keyword research, technical audits, Search Console, and a tool like Ahrefs or Semrush. You have a point of view on how AI search is changing discovery.
- You can write for developers. Clear, technical, and free of fluff. You can read API docs and a pricing page and explain both in plain words, and you know what a token, an inference API, and a GPU-hour are.
- Analytics comfort: GA4, UTMs, a product analytics tool such as PostHog or Mixpanel, and spreadsheets. Basic SQL is a plus.
- Practical with the tools of the job: a CMS like Webflow, Canva or Figma, and AI tools built into your own workflow.
- Startup-ready: self-directed, fast, and happy to ship, measure, and iterate rather than write long plans.
- Some overlap with US and European hours around launches and community activity.
Nice to Have
- Experience at a developer-first, AI infrastructure, or cloud company.
- You’ve built something small with an LLM API yourself.
- A product launch on Hacker News, Product Hunt, or Reddit that you ran end to end.
- Short-form video editing skills.
- Hands-on Webflow experience.
- Worked at a Seed or Series A stage company before.
Why Join Us?
- Ownership. You own packet.ai’s digital channels end to end, from what we publish to where the budget goes.
- A product with a clear story. Same models, same API, a fraction of the cost. You won’t have to invent a reason for developers to care.
- Front row on AI infrastructure. You’ll see how developers actually buy GPUs and tokens, and you’ll shape how one of the newest platforms in the market grows.
- Direct line to leadership. You work closely with the founding team, product, and engineering. Your numbers are visible to the people running the company.
- Meaningful equity at Seed-stage economics.
